Bowraville (Bowra) is a small country town on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales, Australia and is about 17km inland from Nambucca Heads and approximately halfway between Sydney and Brisbane.
The town developed around the timber industry which is responsible for the unique streetscape and architecture of Bowraville.
Bowraville has a rich mix of Aboriginal and European history and cultures and is home to many interesting people, businesses and attractions.

The NSW Government and the Commonwealth are covering the full cost of cleaning up eligible NSW properties that have been destroyed by bushfires since 1 July 2019.

Both insured and uninsured properties used for residential, small business or primary production purposes are eligible for the clean-up program.

Bushfire affected landholders in the North Coast, Northern Tablelands and Hunter regions are urged to report damage to property and infrastructure through the online natural disaster damage survey or by phoning 1800 814 647.

The survey enables DPI to determine the area the natural disaster has impacted and the scale of the event, the severity of the impact, the value of impact to primary production, where and what assistance or resources may be needed.

Animal Welfare

The Agricultural and Animal Services Functional Area (AASFA) is supporting primary producers and communities impacted by the fires in the States northeast. Staff from NSW Department of Primary Industries and Local Land Services are supporting the Rural Fire Service across all fires.

For those impacted and seeking assistance for emergency fodder, emergency water (for immediate animal welfare cases only), animal care (evacuations) or animal assessment (resulting from the fires) please contact the AASFA Hotline on 1800 814 647.
